Techno-Wizards Unite!

Okay, if you have been to our Blog page before and couldn't figure it out, you're not alone.  I couldn't figure it out and I created it!?  So, hopefully this one powered by Google will be more beneficial to all of us and you'll feel more comfortable jumping into the mix and speaking your mind.

As for Technology, it's a wonderful thing when it comes to being able to sit down at a computer and search for just about anything that comes to mind, shop for something and have it delivered with a click of the mouse - I do it all the time.  Face it, I have no life, I'm in the office constantly!?

But I must admit, the love relationship I see between people and their cell phones still baffles me. What could they possibly be staring at ALL the time?  I mean CONSTANTLY.  No one looks at anyone anymore while walking down the street, especially if they are part of the 'X' generation (or whatever they are calling themselves these days). They are too busy fondling their phones and running their fingers all over it.  While driving, all I see are people trying to juggle their phones AND keep an eye on the road.  I can always tell when I'm behind someone either trying to text or make a call - they are zigzagging in and out of the lane, and it makes me crazy.

Have we lost the ability to physically communicate with each other via a smile.. or the spoken word?  I'm sorry, but texting doesn't count, okay!?  It took me forever to even get a phone with text capability, so yes now I do use it, but definitely not while I'm driving.  In fact, my phone generally remains in my handbag while I'm in the car and if it rings... I let it go to voicemail.  Nothing can be that important that it can't wait until I reach my destination.  Remember a time when all you had was a home phone and if someone called and you weren't there?  That's right - they called you back later.  Or when we started getting technologically advanced, they left a message on your... answering machine!  Remember those??  Holy Cow, I still remember when TV was free! But I won't even get started on that.

For now, how bout just giving yourself and the cell phone a rest... the world won't come to an end if you just put it down, and walk away for a little while.  We'll all still be here when you get back... with a special ring tone...and a text message.

Enjoy your week!

Starting Off The New Year Right!

Starting off a New Year right, or what I would think is the right way, one would first want to reflect on their past acheivements and failures, and whether or not they met "Plan" -- the goals set for that period of time.
Being honest with ones self plays a major roll here to.  If you aren't the type to set and write down short-term and long-term goals, or if you're not the type of person that uses Technology to establish and track activities, it's really hard to grade what is in ones head.  But, it's your life and you can do...  Or not do what you want.
But let me share a saying and one that I refer to as the most powerful two-letter words to live by:
If It Is To Be, It Is Up To Me!
Sorry, but I don't know its author.  Or, for that matter, who or what exposed it to me.  All I know is that it's easy to remember and comes in real handy when things start to go south.  I know this, because I work with my hands and occationally utilize power tools and I still have all my original body parts.  Moreover, I have never broken a bone in my body.  This is not to say that I haven't tried to teach a few of my tools and projects how to fly, but as I am about to launch them I pause (most of the time) and consider an alternative action.
So, what's it going to be for you in 2012?
